Daily Mass Sacristan
These student or resident parishioner sacristans are responsible for setting up for Mass, selecting ministers, and cleaning up after Mass. Please contact Melinda Marhofer or the Parish Office for more information.
The primary work of this ministry is to serve the parish by enhancing the readiness of our parish community to celebrate liturgy, most notably, Sunday Mass. This minister serves "behind the scenes" on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings before each Mass to assure that all the items needed for the day's liturgy are in place, that the appropriate ministers are present, know their roles, and are ready to serve.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are volunteer parishioners called to serve the Body of Christ at the Eucharist, at Communion Services, or in the ministry of care to the sick and homebound. Ministers are scheduled on a rotating schedule and serve at Saturday and Sunday Masses.
Proclaiming the Word of God to His people is the task entrusted to those who join the ministry of readers. They are scheduled on a rotating basis for the weekend Masses, Holy Days of Obligation and special celebrations. The reader, a practicing Catholic 6th grade and older, along with reading the Word, leads the congregation in the Prayers of the Faithful. Readers are scheduled on a rotating schedule at Saturday and Sunday Masses.
Creating a warm atmosphere for all worshipers is the first priority of the Greeters. Entire families are also encouraged to participate in this ministry, which often sets the tone for how people will feel while participating in the worship service. Greeters serve at the Saturday and Sunday Masses.
Children in the 4th-12th grade may be trained as a Youth Altar Server. These children serve at the 5:30pm and 9am Masses, as well as some Holy Day Masses.
BSU students may be also be trained as Altar Servers for student and all-parish liturgies. These students typically serve at the 11:15am and 8pm Sunday Masses, assist at weddings, funerals, Solemn Holy Hour, and other liturgies.
