2nd Year Missionary
"Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go.” John 21:18
This passage pretty much sums up my life since I found Jesus. When I first realized the seriousness in choosing whether to live for Jesus or to not live for Jesus I knew which was the right path to take but it was the last place I wanted to go.
The rest of the world was telling me to live in a different way and so for a few more years I chose the wrong path. When I went to college at the University of Wisconsin, Madison the choice became even more difficult but God was very patient with me. Slowly I began to follow Him here and there, but always with hesitation. All of my little yeses to Him added up and before I knew it I went a lot of places I had never wanted to go. Even though I did not initially want to go to these places I have always ended up so grateful God has lead me to them. Through all of that God brought me to a place where I really fell in love with the Church and even more with Jesus.
Ever since I found out about the mission of FOCUS I have loved it. I fell into the temptations college brings and I know God needs a team to show college students that these are Satan’s lies for happiness. God made it pretty clear to me He was calling me to apply to be a missionary and so I did in the winter of 2011. It wasn’t a place I wanted to go at first but now there is no place I would rather go!
On a less serious note some things I love are: baking, hiking, running, anything in a lake, anything outside pretty much, Marian apparitions, sparkles, sugar, anything with sugar in it (especially ice cream), singing and Michael Buble! I also really enjoy exploring! I am so excited to be your FOCUS Missionary and I look forward to meeting you all!
